Born and raised in Southern California, Lucinda is a third generation California artist. Largely self and family taught, she has been creating art since she can remember and has studied with some exceptional teachers from Ventura College, LACC, and UCLA Extension. She has worked in many styles and in a variety of media, and fell in love with pastel after visiting Bert Collins in her studio in Ojai, CA. She has had the great joy of participating in Bert's classes for the past few years, as well as working with Richard McKinley in his plain air workshops, bringing yet another dimension to her work.
From Bangkok to Pakistan, Lucinda's love of travel and adventure continue to inspire and influence her work as an artist, especially her recent trips to Italy, adding rustic architectural elements to her subject matter. She shares this passion for art, travel, photography, and teaching on her blog, Cobalt Violet, with other artists and bloggers from more than 100 countries around the world.
Kylie McMorran began her art career at the Wizard of Art at the age of five. She continued her studies in high school at LACHSA (Los Angeles High School of the Arts) and received her undergraduate degree at Art Center in Pasadena. She enjoys the creativity that is ever present at the Wizard, and finds that it enriches her own painting practice.
Mekenzie holds a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design. She has been working with the Wizard for seven years, and has recently begun pursuing a teaching career at the Center for Early Education in Los Angeles as well. With a passion for both art and teaching, Mekenzie has been an integral part of our staff and holds our values true to her heart.
